Client seeks technical writer with exceptional talent and personal skills.
Job Description
- A minimum of 10 years experience as a technical writer in positions of significant responsibility as evidenced by a highly polished resume and a portfolio of examples.
- A bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in any field as evidence of advanced analytical and writing skills is strongly desired.
- Expert knowledge and recent work experience with the following applications:
- Acrobat 8 or 9
- FrameMaker 7.2 or 8
- Photoshop CS2 or CS3
- Dreamweaver
- Visio
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to create and modify documents quickly based on templates in the above applications.
- Significant experience in manipulating and inserting screen captures and other graphics in FrameMaker documents
- One of the following is required:
- Significant experience with MadCap Flare and a portfolio containing Flare examples makes a candidate as a strong contender for this position
- Strong RoboHelp experience will be considered if someone does not know Flare.
- Expert ability to code HTML by hand
- Ability to learn about post trade processing products fast, in a non-stop, hectic, fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical writer with significant experience in the securities industry
- Top-notch interviewing capabilities to obtain the information needed to do the job in situations where specifications and working software are unavailable
- Ability to produce a high quantity of work that is of high quality in a non-stop environment where down time is unusual
- A high degree of resiliency to change and adaptability
- Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals and maintain a pleasant disposition, even in difficult situations
- Top-notch organizational skills and attention to detail a required to keep track of complicated review comments, email messages, and versions of documents
- If the candidate’s portfolio contains a product overview for a complicated securities product, it will make the candidate a top contender for this contract
On-site in work in Boston is required on a full-time basis (40 hours per week).
